First Match in our new home!
Despite threats of high winds - which happened - and rain that didn’t
quite make it, the first regular match was held Sat, Sept 2nd. About
20 shooters showed up and shot 3 stages and a classifier.
The stages included Stage 1, a 32 rd course that required shooting
around barriers and moving backwards. Jerry Bridges was the stage
designer.
Stage 2 was about 30 rds with poppers, swingers and paper that had to
be shot from specific boxes. Rod Cassidy was responsible for that mess!
Stage 3 was Rod Current’s design - a 16 rd stage that started with the
gun on a table. USP poppers and paper with 1 of the poppers at 30 yds!
Randy Ryan is back to shooting Open and he took overall. The rest of
us were in there somewhere. All said, an IPSC style match that was
challenging and enjoying.
For my part, the State Match was rewarding to do and participate in,
but it was good to get back to shooting just for the fun of it. And it
was especially good to hold our first regular match at our new home.
DVC!
